Brilliant article. What Ghana is doing is so inspiring. As a Nigerian, I hope and pray that our country (and the rest of Africa), follow suit. So far many of Nigeria’s citizens want big changes and to be free of the colonial shackles of Western domination that causes economic instability and bad governance, but our puppet government leaders (many who came from the military), are so blinded by their greed, tribal and state squabbling to move Nigeria into a progressive and prosperous future. The recent #endSARS protest further highlighted the extreme problems the country is facing and how the federal state system has never worked for ordinary people. It’s the product of political competition between the elite, bourgeoisie class that rely on state power for influence and affluence. Meanwhile the vast majority of citizens continue to suffer from government bureaucracies and corruption while the West (and now China), is watching and manipulating to tides of power to see which side comes out on top for their own greedy ambitions.
